Anybody have any new info on the safety prospect from Georgia??? I think we have as good of a shot as an, but was wondering what others felt.
From reading various sources, it seems we are in a 3 way, 33% shot, race with Miami and Georgia for Reshad. If Landry goes pro, and the indications are that he will, our chances go up quite a bit since playing time is his stated #1 priority. Childhood favorite is Miami but he doesn't seem to be dead set on them (especially with Phillips there), and Georgia has made some ground up with him of late.
Guess I'm REALLY setting myself up for a letdown because I want Landry to STAY....AND Jones to sign with us.
But doesn't signing day happen before the deadline for underclassmen to announce their intensions to enter the draft? How would Jones know? ...unless Landry tells him...
I'm sure he'll let the coaches know soon after the Peach Bowl, and then the coaches will let Reshad know.
And just so you all know... I am hearing that at this time, Laron is leaning towards coming back unless he has a breakthrough game in the Peach Bowl...
I'm liking that! and if that Jones kid can't wait ONE season to potentially play 4, then who cares. I don't feel like sacrificing a known ALL-SEC and All-American safety for a chance to sign a top-rated safety recruit. Like I said earlier, I hope Laron stays AND Jones realizes the benefit of possibly redshirting and learning from Landry for one season...after that, the next 4 years can all be Jones'.
