you still make a big leap from dem supported assistance programs to controlling poor people. honestly, the fact that you are so hung up on this issue shows your stripes. arent there many more fiscally important issues? and the gov can create jobs indirectly. i dont think anyone cares about jobs they create directly--at least as far as the overall economy goes. the best tax structure should be put in place for fostering a strong economy. and the gov should maintain a top education system and technology research funds to support new industries. thats a lot gov can do. and you are wrong about the gop. they would let the poor die. they have fought every major social support system but will fight tooth and nail for every percentage point of taxes on the upper brackets. if they had their way there would be no SS, no medicare, no min wage... dems are screwed up too, but i prefer to live in a world with their screw ups.
not really, but both are bad. do you think the current conservatism is that much different than that of the early 1900s? make a buck at all costs. its very yankee, you know. such a brilliant move by them to throw in the social conservative stuff too to get the south.
If I was poor, i.e. homeless and unemployed, you can be damned sure I wouldn't die waiting on guvmint 'sistance. It's not the GOP killing them. It's their GD bone idleness.
Man, that is NOT what the economy is. Only that's not true, you swallowed a huge propaganda lie. You do that a lot. Big business is sending jobs to India and China and Mexico. Rich Americans are not hiring middle class Americans. It is a myth. If you think it's OK for super-rich fat cats to pay 15% on their million-dollar annual incomes while you get to pay 25% on yours, then you are sadly deluded. They are laughing all the way to the bank. They are laughing at you, amigo.
If the government would get out of our lives and do their job, like taxing imports, the "fat cats" wouldn't have to ship their jobs overseas. And if they jack up the taxes there will be even more overseas operatrions by domestic corporations. You live in a fantasy land.
