I've pointed out a growing trend....free market medicine. Take away the paperwork mandated by insurance and government and doctors can deliver care at significantly lower cost. Before the ACA, 45000 Americans per year were dying due to lack of health insurance, according to a Harvard study. You've heard of Harvard, right? The most prestigious university in the country, and probably in the entire world? Yes, lack of health insurance causes deaths that can be avoided.

I moved to an HSA account and noticed my doctor visits are much lower when I pay in cash from my HSA account. I moved my insurance plan to a high deductible. Basically for major/costly events. In a perfect world, I would select the exact coverage I want to cover serious costly emergencies and pay for the rest out of pocket, but you know, the GOVERNMENT wont let me. Put it to you this way. I have a wife and three kids; 8, 6, and 2. This past year I only paid $1,300 in doctor visits I didnt claim (Cash Price). Nothing major. THAT is doable. Its not doable with you add in the monthly premium I pay so I wont get fined. A catastrophic plan for a family could be as low as $50 a month if the government got the fuck out of the way. Instead they are forced to cover ALL VISITS....
