I've been trying to figure this out and I think it has to do with the fact that it was just a regular hooker (not underage or male), and there were no pics. Clinton survived and Vitter survived with these two circumstances.

This is akin to me beating Mitch Landrieu for mayor of New Orleans. Keep fiddling, Nero.

edit: And Weiner wasn't running, so the voters didn't throw him out. They did, however, throw out the Democrats they had stayed loyal to for decades.

To me, the article points to the majority Jewish district's unhappiness with Obama's stance on Isreal and the Democratic candidate's stance on gay marriage. The result had nothing to do with a referendum against Obama's policies, just a few specific ones from a narrow special interest. I am sure the district is already finding ways to neutralize Turner. Just because the Democrats torched their seat doesn't mean they see the light.

    He had no serious opposition.

Exactly, it had nothing to do with Obama. Al Gore would have been elected president if not for Bill Clinton's scandal. Scandals taint the party to voters.

I'm not talking about winning an election so much as I'm talking about withstanding the sh!tstorm and not resigning. Just so long is she is underage, or a he, and there's no pics, you're good.

Or as Edwin has stated publicly, to lose the election he would have to be caught with a live boy or a dead girl.

Turner was on the radio about 10 minutes ago. He said the issues voters consistently told him they were most concerned about during the campaign were the economy/jobs (don't they know GDP is up?) and the current administration's policies toward Israel.

A lot of this is that democratic voters stayed home. There is much talk of this among political commentators. The democratic voters aren't pumped up to get out and vote like they were in 2008. On the other hand, conservative voters can't wait to get out and vote. The turnout favored the republican.
