I'm a little torn over this issue. I'd like to see Saban leave Bama for some of the obvious reasons. On the other hand, I'd like another couple of years to battle against him at Bama with the combination of Chief and Cam along with our anticipated strong recruiting class (and hopefully Jennings leading the offense).

It would also be fun to see him deal with all of the crazies in Bama over the next year. With Auburn back to being relevant and his poor coaching decisions against them, it has created a storm that he's never seen. His old days of lecturing the media that "It's time to move on, got it?!?!" just won't work.

Have to admit I'm enjoying the melt down in gumpville. I am of the opinion that him at Bama makes us stronger. I hope he stays and expect it. One point not disucssed is Nick's need for total control. He is the control freak of all time and remember how he failed without it in Miami.

He got it at LSU thanks to Emmert...the gumps were so desperate they gave him the keys to the state. I'm not sure he an come close to getting it in Austin. Hell they can't even fire Mack Brown.
It remains to be seen if the UT authorities are willing or even able to give Nick the power he craves and can't live without.

The bidding wars on these coaches is getting insane. I have to see it to believe it in terms of Saban leaving. I know he's had his times, but he has a great situation where he can essentially have anything he desires.

Confirmed by UA tweet Nick has signed an extension. to stay in gumpland. All Alabama has released a huge sigh of relief and an go back to their sisters.
As I stated earlier Nick would not go to the chaos that is at UT. It will be more satisfying to kick gump ass with him as coach.

I would rather Santa give LSU and Auburn a win in 2014.
Imagine the fan base meltdown when both LSU and Auburn beats them.

What I want from Santa: get the recruits we want without poaching by Saban. And a bowl win to a lesser degree. And a strong performance from Jennings. Then maybe some of the nfl leans to return for another year and a NC.
