I have been pretty underwhelmed with our D line play the last few years, so I don't see this as that big of a loss. Some, if not much, of that is related to Chavis' preference for undersized D players, so its hard to pin that all on Brick. Either way, I think this is a net gain for us in regards to D line and recruiting.
Listening to the Coach O press conference I'm ready to put some pads on and hit somebody for him. He is fired up and ready to geaux.
Is it possible that Brick is capable of coaching another Defensive position, like LB? If he has aspirations of being a DC down the road, coaching another position and getting exposure to a completely different defensive scheme might actually be good experience for him.
He can't be a coach unless someone else on the staff quits or is let go. The NCAA rulebook puts a limit on the number of coaches allowed on a staff.
There are a couple coordinators I know that have split it. One half in the box, another half, on the field
Ed Orgeron via the presser: "I don't care if they're committed to another school, we're going to get them." "I remember passing across that bridge may times wanting to be in Tiger Stadium." "I can't wait to go out tomorrow and recruit with that big "LSU" on my chest". "It's a place I've always wanted to coach. You grow up watching LSU, family lives Mandeville, great opportunity."
] Do some reading, read a couple of TerryP's posts. While you'll have to look through his Gump glasses he does have some insight.[/QUOTE] Steele was the recruiter of the year in 2005. Look at his resume to see who he signed. O was the recruiter of the year, same with Frank. All three have been great recruiters. Ask coaches who have recruited against them
I was so pumped, I went out and gave a couple of forearm shivers to the light pole. I'm now on the 15 day DL.
LOL. I got so excited with the news of O, I ran out and bought the Rosetta Stone Authentic Coonass collection. I'll be speaking yaw in a few weeks.
