His doing business in Russia with Russians before his run means nothing. That standard would have disqualified many including HRC. Even if he owes them money or was furnished sex workers it only matters if it is used to influence him. There would need to be a reason to suspect his actions were done under pressure. At this time there's nothing there IMO. If he lifts sanctions or betrays Ukraine or the Baltics it's a reasonable question. As of now he's crossing the Russians in Syria and other hot spots. There's no sign of him loosening sanctions. His business prior to his run, nomination and election/office is of no legal import at this time. That includes tax returns. That's political BS.
Two points about this statement: 1) Trump claims he has no business dealings with or in Russia so if he does then he has lied to the American public about it and there must be a reason why he would lie about it. The public needs to know. 2) If those business dealings link him to prominent Russian Oligarchs, who inevitably answer to Putin, we need to know the exact nature of it and how much he owes them. Trump's business dealings mean everything if they point toward secretive Russian ties. Because none of that could be used to bribe him, right? Look, I could care less if the guy had a sex romp with some Russian hookers and I could care less if he has business dealings in Russia that are above board. But if that was true why not just put it out there and allow the American people to see for themselves. Why not release his tax returns? Why is he constantly trying to make the Russia investigation go away? Why does his story perpetually change about these matters? This is why we investigate. So we can know. what about changing the Republican platform on Ukraine? No, those tax returns aren't political at all at this point. They might have been before but given the firestorm surrounding him the investigators need to see everything.
