No Red, lol, they have never worked in history. Look it up. Groups of 8 people were living together during the war. Sounds fun.
Umm you example just says people accepted it. Thats about it.. Not sure what you are trying to prove at this point..
red. because people were willing to sacrifice and grow their own food in victory gardens and send their children off to die, that doesnt mean price controls worked. it means normal economic incentives (and economics is purely the study of inentives) are not in effect. in peacetime people are not proud of the fact that they are subsistig on nothing nad sending everything they have to the war effort. like pride says above. during the war people packed together and new construction of homes was suspended. new cars were not made. everything was restricted. and the people were no pleased because it was great, they were pleased because they didnt want thir fathers and brothers and sons to get killed. all bets are off when wars get that big. its simply a non-point to argue about economic forces during wars. during the war the government took over entire industries like the rairoads. would you argue that this "works" and think you have made a point! of course not! nationalizing industries is a terrible idea. wars make different rules. and you cant even prove that price controls worked to the war effort. during war you dont even want regular folks to have money or anything at all, you want them to be desperately poor so everything is shipped overseas to kill germans.
right. your argument is that price controls work because the US won world war two. and we are the ones hanging ourselves.
No it doesn't It says most people had no issue and that price controls were enacted. Not facts or evidence that it helped more people than it hurt b/c most everyone was putting forth their war efforts.
I really think you think that just because people said yes to it, it works... So if most people dislike Obama care, that makes it not work?
