Like Big Baby and Tyrus and Stromile, and guys like them huh? I understand what you're saying, but you don't get it. Butch recruited well, at Brady's expense. 99.9995% of big-time college basketball prospects get recruited by head coaches. Brady is not the most charasmatic guy, so LSU never had that luxary. the fact that the Tigers got the players they did get with primarily an assistant coach doing the heavy lifting is pretty remarkable.
is the record of getting instate talent any less for brady than brown? seems like browns big name recruits-williams, cj, shaq, roberts, brandon were out of state. he got henderson and livingston and earl and im sure some of the early guys were big time instate recruits. but im sure he missed out on many too----the other john williams, dumars (was he a big recruit?), kittles, malone, eackles, honeycutt, woolridge, smart, reed, russell, parrish, hayes. whoops, those last four dont count. and i dont think you can count the early years against brady bc of the sanctions.
CBP is not the right guy for LSU. I do wish him luck in finding a HC job somewhere. LSU can do better.
Maybe . . .maybe not. Pierre ought to get a short contract, two or three years, to see what he can do. We know he can recruit. If he can coach successfully, then he's just what we need--A Louisiana guy with long-term LSU association. If it doesn't work out, the the new AD has a couple of years to line up the big-name coach he wants. But it will be hard to pay one much with LSU's poor attendance.
Brady coached here for 10 years, he was bound to pick up a star or two here and there. I read an article a few weeks back in which the writer listed all the big time recruits, from the state of louisiana, that were shining at other schools and were not even recruited by Brady. Louisiana is full of high school b-ball talent, and I just think a good recruited would be able to keep most of that talent at home. Big Baby, Stromile, and Tyrus are certainly credit to Brady over a number of years, but I think LSU is capable of getting a Big Baby, a Stromile, and a Tyrus in one recruiting class alone. Hopefully we'll get there in the near future.
I think Tyrus was a diamond in the rough. Not sure anyone saw him coming. Didn't he have a medical redshirt before his freshman year? Would love to have seen him play another year or two for us.
you're high. stro and tt were top 3 nba picks. it is very rare, even for UNC, KU, UCLA to get that in one year----in fact, i would be surprised if its ever happened.
yes, neck injury, i believe. sounds like he was a diamond in the rough because he was 2 inches shorter coming out of high school.
