Did you hire WVU's coach? Of course, players always give it their all for the interim guy immediately. Now, lets calm down and think long term. Even if it is him I wouldn't base it on a game where they had nothing to play for, especially after one game. With that being said it was a great win and he and and the Tigers should be proud.
People just forget how highly touted this dude is. http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=238402 that's a little blast from the past with him being mentioned in the same breathe as everyone's boy, Anthony Grant.
They definitely seem to be moving around trying to set up plays better than what they have been. It also seems that the ball is distributed more as far as shooting and the like. This may be because Brady is now gone and his brand of forcing the issue with his star is also gone. This frees up the rest of the team to play and not just Marcus Thornton.
Good win tonight! I don't think that removing the interim is a good idea just yet, cause it seems to me that they would be playing hard for anybody not named Brady at this point.
I look at Skip and see he has hired: 1. one of the best college football coaches in America 2. One of the best Women's Basketball coaches ever 3. The guy who will lead LSU baseball back to the top 4. The best young soccer coach in the nation hands down. He's not doing too bad, I'd say.
99.9999999999995% of coaches will get an extension after a Final Four run. But never, ever in any point in time did the players WANT to play for Brady. Pierre always was the guy they were here for. Especially this particular batch of players led by Tasmin, who is Butch's godson.
I can't find the history but I believe Brady received more than one extension. I could be wrong, but my memory says Skip made a few, hasty offers to coaches after over-achieving seasons. My stance is this - don't make a quick decision. Since LSU has decided it's time for a change, take time and don't make the same mistake again. Let this thing play out and make a smart business decision.
the playing hard thing is really overrated, guys. they won because they hit shots. the tigers will rarely be able to win games against decent teams because of the rebounding deficiency. floridas D is pretty weak and LSU got killed on the boards. my guess is that shots fell because they feel less pressure---and because cj has been back a few games now. itll be very interesting to see what happens against UK. patterson will go nuts against us and their active guards likely will too. but we do have 3 viable weapons outside with cj, thornton and martin. if they are hitting, it doesnt matter that we cant get an O rebound. the other end of the floor is another concern.
