Did anybody else feel that way? I mean the hype surrounding Oregon, & deservedly so, was unreal leading up to that game. I always feel like we have a chance to win every game, but that one I was nervous about b/c it was the 1st game of the season & we all didn't know what type of team LSU really was yet. Then I let out a big sigh of relief at halftime, b/c we dominated them in all phases of the game.

Alabama, however, is a different beast entirely. Yes, Oregon is extremely fast & athletic, but they are runts compared to SEC players. Same thing with W.V. There's no other team or fanbase that I hate more than the gumps, but you have to give credit where it's due, their D is clearly #1 for a reason, & Richardson is the real deal! The guy is a beast! Did you see Tenn. try tackling him Sat. night? WOWSER!

So should we be nervous? Well yes, bama absolutely has the #1 D for a reason, but what's the best offense they've played? Arkansas at home? Ark. has poor balance on offense. They def. cannot run as effectively as LSU can. Also, here are the avg. run yds given up by bama's opponents so far:
    Kent St. 136
    Penn St. 101
    North TX 155
    Arkansas 183
    Florida 120
    Vandy 133
    Ole Miss 223
    Tenn 154

LSU only gives up 76 rushing per game. Sure, Richardson will get his yards, but he's gonna get hit harder than he's been hit all year. And McCarron's a soph. that hasn't been tested all year. He hasn't seen a D close to LSU's caliber as far as speed, athleticism & depth goes! Chavis will test him early & often.

And there D hasn't faced a team as deep & capable at RB as LSU has, including a QB that can scramble. Our balance on offense is amazing! I hope to see a one two punch of Ware, Hilliard, Ware, Hilliard, Ford, then BOOM! Deep ball on PA to Randle! All I can do is hope, but I like the way LSU has looked all year.

Both teams are extremely talented, & I'm sure this is the 2 best teams in the country by far. This game is the BCSNCG, it's just a shame that it's in tuscaloosa. However, I'm not nervous about this game b/c I know what type of team LSU has. This their year. GO TIGAHS!

I'm not nervous at all about this game. LSU could win or lose on the road, but it is going to be a hell of a game and LSU is going to be a handful to beat.

This may be the best LSU team I've ever seen and has everything it takes to go all the way. If Bama wins, they deserve to be the national champions. If not, may they beat Boise in the Sugar Bowl and finish #2.

    I'm not nervous at all.

I'm not quite as nervous as I was for the Oregon game because the thought of losing the first game of the season made me sick to my stomach.

I'm confident about Nov. 5th but if bama wins (without the help of the refs) then they deserve it and I hope they win out (unless we do get to play them in the NCG).

The loser will get the gratification of destroying boise st in the Sugar Bowl. That and a 12-1 season isn't bad at all. If people take that kind of season for granted they should just think about how some of the other SEC teams are doing this year.

The Oregon game was never in doubt, the Ducks might have a pretty and flashy offense, but gimmicks don't work when you face real defenses, Auburn proved it and we enforced it.

Yep, what Red said. Haven't felt nervous about a game all year and I'm not about to start now.

I know we will be prepared and play our DAMN STRONG brand of football. May the best team win.

    THIS

As long as LSU doesn't beat themselves. If Bama wins they are the better team and no matter how the rest of the BCS unfolds LSU is the 2nd best team in the land and I'll be pulling Hard for all the cards to align for a re-match in NOLA!

As for Bama and their fans, they are definitely not on the top of my hate list. The Bama fans i know are some of the best cfb fans and also understand what it feels like to be a hated sec powerhouse like we LSU fans are.

No worries here, sit back and enjoy the next 2 weeks leading up to this game. We are the #1 Team in the land! Enjoy! Don't worry! We have two weeks to laugh, enjoy, shake and nod our heads at all the hype and bs that we will be reading and listening too. Don't let any of that **** ruin your 2 weeks of enjoying the payoff of what this team has busted it's ass to get!

    #1

It's all about perception, & my perception of the bama fans is of experience. Their the most arrogant fans in the West, & there's nothing worse when the like to brag about their great grandfather's, grandfather's football record, but I could care less if any other tiger fan feels the same way I do...everybody sees things differently. And I guess I was just brought up in a pessimistic household (my dad) when it comes to being REALISTIC about game day expectations (mostly Saints though). I don't care what any of you say, after most of the tiger fan base wanted Les's head last year when LSU was 7-0 & our shaky QB play, especially with Jefferson being suspended the week of the game, I know you all weren't as confident that they would win as you boast now. My point is, bama is much better, but I'm not worried now that I know LSU is playing lights out in every phase of the ball.

    No .. I'm not nervous.

Bama's Defense has not faced the threats the LSU defense has faced.

    - The average running strength of Bama's opponents is 130 yrds/game., LSU's average oppoents put up 172 yrds/game. BOTH teams are extremely efficient at shutting down the opponents run. The kicker is the threshold. Whether you shut it down by 40% or 60%, if the threshold is at 25%, you've put a significant dent in the opposing teams ability to score. BOTH teams do this. I think the TN game is a fair indicator, Bama gave up 92 yards .. we gave up 111. Niether team has seen a power run game like they will face Nov. 5th. They are equal.

    - Average pass attack strength of each groups opponents are 214 and 195, for LSU and Bama, respectively. BOTH teams decrease this by 20%.

    - In the scoring department, LSU has faced significantly stiffer opponents. LSU's opponents average a score of 29.5 points [excluding LSU games], Bama's opponents have averaged 24 points [excluding Bama games]. The real kicker, is that Bama has faced some scoreless wonders.

*** the Kicker ... LSU is prone to give up a lot of garbage yrds and points at the end of the game. Bama does not do this.

When it comes to offense .. Richardson is good .. but TN held him to just 77 yrds. The problem was that TN's secondary does not have the strength and talent to shut down both the run and the pass. Don't think you can say that about this LSU defense.

    - McCarron will throw an interception in this game. bank on it! Lee, OTOH, will not. McCarron does not have the WR power to work with like LSU has. AND ... LSU's O-Line is not AR! Lee won't spend all night running from Bama's D. By the same token, I don't expect a whole lot of pressure on McCarron either, but it will be more than he faced against TN.

When you line up the numbers .... this is flat out going to one fantistic game!! ... so no .. I"m not nervous.
