    I like this

I am not going to waste any brain cells on who we might play. That is for those not in to have to worry about. I will enjoy the gutting of the Dawgs and then who is in the waiting cool!

I'm thinking his opinion is that the #2 team should be that of someone more deserving and not really the 2nd best team in the country meaning voters to move a team above Bama not because they're a better team but because everyone crying about fairness.. Ok State had their chance when they lost to a nobody!!

Corect. Imagine a World Series based, not on AL vs NL, but on the two best ranked teams regardless of conference? Crazy!

There should be a playoff in place. Given we don't have a playoff, the two best teams should play. Alabama's loss is more impressive than Oklahoma St's. The best team shouldn't play a token champion simply because the second best team didn't win their conference.

Conference championship and national championship should be unrelated. National championship should be based on the entire season, not just one game. I think most people believe Bama has had a more impressive season than the Cowboys.

Wouldn't a play off be worse? It would give MANY teams with a loss or two a chance.

Depends on how you do it, but rather than sticking LSU with a controversial #2 it gives teams a chance to work it out. I'd throw conditional byes and home-field advantage in and make it as small as reasonably possible.

This year is atypical, with a single team to date head and shoulders above, maybe a conditional case can be put in for that, but I don't think that'd be desireable. You don't want #1 sitting idle and becoming rusty for too long. I'm all about the importance of the regular season, but I also hate the drawing straws aspect of the postseason BCS championship. I think you draw up a postseason that merges both ideas.

Interesting to see how this plays out and how it works with the playoff I came up with. I'll see if it needs tweaking after next weekend.

Hold up, how are you not at work? I am with you on most LSU topics but I disagree here. OSU played a harder schedule. Yes, they lost to Iowa. Shyt happens. Who did Bama play that was decent? It is like the game of the century never even happen. Poof it is gone. Just like that.
