The problem is the players do not feel they could be Bama. It looked to me like they gave up after the Harris INT. LSU did not show the fire we used to seeing, we did not see that fight till death attitude.
They heard Miles halftime speech telling them that in the 2nd half we were going to come out and run it down their throat.
If so, why was the first play from scrimmage a pass play? I agree that abandoning the pass game altogether was foolish, but if that interception isn't thrown (and I still think the TE could have gone up for that ball and at least deflected it), the game may have played out differently. Of course, it may have not because our defense was having a hard time getting off the field, too.
From what I remember seeing of the replay, the ball whized passed his right ear and he didn't react quickly enough. I think this comes down to our lack of timing and rhythm on offense. Reps will help correct those sorts of errors. It is why a lot of us were complaining about our passing game or lack of earlier in the year. I personally don't think a young college team can just turn huge facets of their game on or off. Expecting or even hoping an effective balance offense will just appear against your toughest opponent on the road 8 or 9 games in is just silly. That will likely never happen. Or maybe one in 6 tries, which is what has happened vs. Bama.
Let's do better than that ---- Bama loses Saturday to Miss State. We beat Arkansas, Ole Miss and A&M We beat Florida in Atlanta and make the playoffs as the #3 seed. We beat #2 Ohio State We beat #1 Clemson And Bama slaughters some Big12 pretender in their New Year's Eve bowl game
