Solja has 30 receptions, and the next most is L.J. Smith with 20. I think Reggie, who is leading the NFL in receptions with 34, is getting any extra catches that a TE would get in our offense.... just saying.
anyone see LJ "attempt" to tackle the DB that returned the fumble/INT for a td? basically gave him a speed boost lol
db? that was DE #94, Demarcus Ware.... the guy that freaking came in and schooled LSU when he played for Troy in 2004, was drafted in the first round along with Marcus Spears, and has generally been a more productive all-around player.
We needed linebacker help in the worst way. I still think LB is a bigger need for this team than TE. Conwell is not the most reliable TE in the league, but he's not as much of a liability (especially with the offensive weapons we have) as the linebackers. I feel like they've been playing over their heads so far and it may not last.
conwell is actually a very good receiving TE and not much of a blocker, much like LJ and also alike is that neither can stay healthy which is their biggest problem. i think he's considered soft by most but productive when he's healthy, like hamstring stallworth. where is zach hilton? he was supposed to be pretty good.
I think an AFC East team picked him up, maybe the Jets (Hilton, that is) Don't know if he made the club, however.
It's clear that when the Saints departed with Hamstring, they had their master game plan of using Bush as more of a receiver than RB. They have really used him beautifully. And now he is returning punts (which I don't think he was early on), and will be from now on after that electrifying game winning TD. Brees is only 27. He's simply a winner. Next season a little help at TE, LBs and suddenly we're a SB contending team. Life is good in Saints land.
