Dwight Freeney's injury is improving but he sits out again.

Colts WR Reggie Wayne aggravated a right knee injury late in practice Friday, but head coach Jim Caldwell said he believed the injury was minor, according to the Colts' media pool report. Also, DE Dwight Freeney missed another practice with an ankle injury, but Caldwell said Freeney might test the ankle later Friday as the Colts wind down their preparations for Super Bowl XLIV.

Wayne, who is listed as probable on the Friday injury report, stopped short while running a route with 20 minutes left in practice and walked off the field under his own power, according to the pool report.

"He just irritated the fat pad in his right knee," Caldwell said.

Wayne had appeared on the injury report with a knee injury last week; it is unclear whether this is the same injury.

According to the pool report, which was filed by Sports Illustrated's Peter King, the fat pad is "the collection of soft tissue below the kneecap that protects the underlying structure of the knee," and Wayne has played with the injury for much of the season.

Freeney, who suffered his injury in the AFC title game, will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Saints, and Caldwell said his recovery is going as expected.

"This is right in line with our plans," he said. "He's making very good progress."

Also, CB Jerraud Powers, who missed the AFC title game with a foot injury, practiced on a limited basis on Friday and is questionable.

fat pad may be code for meniscus - dunno for sure.

Hoffa's fat pad is below the patella (knee cap). It can become inflammed. The menisci are rounded cartileges inside the knee.
