Jamaal Anderson, former RB for the Falcons and current ESPN analyst says Bush had added on some size and from all appearances has a legit chance at having a breakout season in 08 as a running back, effective between the tackles, not just someone catching 80 passes.

I sure hope so. This is paramount to the Saints becoming a much more balanced offense, controlling the clock and moving the chains even more efficiently than ever under a Drew Brees led offense.

I would like to see the Saints return to that 33:27 ratio regarding time of possession they enjoyed in the 06 season that gave a suspect defense a fighting chance at succeeding.

Getting an aged and extremely deteriorated Shaun Alexander is not the answer and what Deuce can give the Saints this season is definitely up in the air, but it won't be the Deuce of old, not even the version we got in 06 after his first recovery from an ACL tear.

Reggie holds the key to whether the Saints are a 12-4, 11-5 team vs a team struggling to make the last playoff spot and a 8-8 record.

As fun as it is to watch Drew Brees fling it 40-45 times, it is definitely not the recipe for success in the NFL.

I'll believe it when I see it, instead of him trying to beat someone to the sideline to get out of bounds.

Outside of Tiki Barber, find me a RB that has been dominant that did not dominate from day 1.

    Bush's clock is ticking.

I wouldn't call that "dominant" (63 yards per game). Tiki also broke 1,000 yards the first time he was allowed to start more than 6 games.

plus Holmes was a non factor for the next 2 seasons for the most part, so I would agree Holmes falls into the category of a "late bloomer", taking 5 seasons to become a premier RB in the NFL

considering Bush has gotten 500 or so a year, I'd take 1,000...

I do not think he will ever be a 1,600 yard back.

What youve seen is what youll get. He can still help a team in a lot fo ways but will never make it to Westbrook status. He is basically a third down back on first or second down -- kind of like Fauk.

    I would agree with that.

But I think he could be a 1200-1300 yard back, in much the way Emmitt Smith was or Curtis Martin.
