Left our hotel in New Orleans about 6AM, got to Baton Rouge about 8:00. I was outvoted by my dad and friends about leaving earlier because I was trying to make KATT's famous tailgate, but oh well.We went to the App tailgate, but it sucked. Made it in plenty of time for "pregame" and all that...loved every minute of it. We left directly after the game and made ATL without incident. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you guys in the coming days. Game notes!...App first 1) You guys didn't see the real Armanti Edwards. He was flustered and obviously off of his game. He overthrew EVERYBODY! Something LSU did, perhaps speed, just messed him up. 2) Too much size, too much speed. I mentioned our young secondary and young O-Line and they had trouble...especially #18,McDuffie, for us. 3) Our D-Line got blown off the line and LBs couldn't get off their blocks 4) Against our own level,I think we have a damn good team this year, despite what you saw yesterday LSU Notes: 1) Hatch is obviously the better of the two QBs I saw. One thing he does do is stare down receivers, which he managed to get away with against us. 2) RB and ST play are stellar...as expected from a Les Miles team. 3) OUr receivers were getting open and dropping balls or getting them thrown over their head. I expect coverage will be a focus of practice for yall this week All in all, trip was worth the hassles. Wish I could have met some of you, but all the LSU fans were fantastic. I'll be rooting for you guys this season and we'll make ya look good by whooping the rest of our schedules ass! Geaux App and Geaux LSU!
Classy post and sound observations. Glad you enjoyed the trip. Edwards was overthrowing the receivers or the game would have been closer. It could have been first game jitters and timing not down. I'll expect him to get better. Our d-line looked real good, and able to get pressure with just 4 rushing. Edwards had to rush a lot of throws and couldn't set his feet. I agree Hatch was the better QB for us. But he is still in the bottom half of SEC QB's. He was throwing behind his receivers, and its a game one thing maybe, that can get better as we go. It better, or we'll be in trouble in SEC play. Thanks for your support! Come back and visit, after a big  game, or come tell us about a BIG ASU win! We'll be pulling for you guys also. All of your fans on here have been GREAT! Geaux Mountaineers! Edit: You may not get much response, everyone is run away or hunkered down for Gustav right now.
Certainly understandable. I'll poke my head in every now and then and unless you guys happen to play Florida State this year I'll be rooting for ya throughout!
For the most part, I have to say that the Appalachian State fans were pretty nice. I meant to tell a random App fan to "go win number four" and "good game", but with everyone trying to get the hell out of dodge, it didn't happen. So... hbk999, good game and go win number four.
