My nephew pointed that out to me and said he witnessed at least 4 holding calls on the Bears that were never called.

I surely didn't think the officiating had a profound effect on the outcome of the game.

 

The problem with the fumble was the initial call. What surprised me was in fast motion, it looked like the ground caused the fumble. And in most cases, the benefit of the doubt is given and it is ruled down by contact. The replay official was correct in not overturning it as the initial shift of the ball in Lewis' hand made it inconclusive as to whether he regained possession or had sufficient possession of the ball not to call it a fumble. Conversely, had the initial call been down by contact (which it should have been), then the replay official could not have overturned it in that case as well. It was basically too close to call anyway you look at it.

Or do you mean being a Saints fan you can confidently say that we are going to be in a similiar position next season?

 

7 versus 3. It wasn't overwhelming. The only bad call I saw was the interference call on Copper. The fumble was costly on Lewis and could have easily been called down by contact. That was unfortunate but by no means a horrible call. I've seen a lot worse.

 

Ouch....I have been arguing with a good friend of mine about the Bears all day today (Grossman, how the game was won and lost, etc)

This may get ugly....lol

I think we as adults can have a civil discussion, however. Somehow. lol
