Perriloux is a tough sell...To get him to LSU will be a Herculean labor for Nick Saban and his staff.... Perilloux would be redshirted, of course...but... Russell and Flynn in '04-->RS Frosh Perilloux in '04-->Senior in HS Russell and Flynn in '05-->RS Sophs Perilloux in '05-->True Frosh (RS) Russell and Flynn in '06-->RS Juniors Perilloux in '06-->RS Frosh Russell and Flynn in '07-->RS Seniors Perilloux in '07-->RS Soph Russell and Flynn in '08-->Gone Perilloux-->RS Junior This kid will allegedly be the best recruit in the NATION next year...Not the best quarterback...Not the best pro-style QB...Not the best dual-threat QB...The best college football recruit in the NATION... Is this guy gonna ride the pine for anywhere from 2-3 years to get his shot? Like I said, a Herculean task lies ahead for this staff and Nick Saban...But it is FAR from one they're not up to the task of...
Well, if he's that good then he should win the starting job. If he's not good enough to start over Russell/Flynn then who the hell cares?
You have to look at all of the teams in the country that are interested in him & vice versa and then guess how that will efect his decision. Texas will have a a True junior & a true senior ahead of him his true freshman year. Brown didn't redshirt either of his Parade All American QB's so they have an advantage over us in that regard. They are supposed to be the main competition for Ryan. I can't find his liting on the Insiders to se who his other favorites are.
If this kid, Perillouz, does not want competition & then we dont want him. In the 70's & 80's, kids that went to USC & Alabama have to wait for their junior & senior season to make his mark. I love coach Saban because he wants competitors & not starters. I have a lot of admiration for Jordan Reeve. Kid with talent like Jordon, who wants to be a walk-on at LSU is amazing. J. Vincent is a prime example of coach Saban's football players. I love his attitude when he is not even a starter at LSU. If you want to win & compete, come to LSU.
If you remember, under Spurrier, it was much the same way....QBs only played 2 years, since he had one great Qb after the other roll thru the Spurrier machine. Either he only gets to play 2 years, or Russell and/or Flynn bolt to the NFL as a Junior, which is likely if they are good as advertised, which Means this kid would play as a Sophomore...something to consider.
2004 Reever Redshirt JR/MF Frosh 2005 Reever RS Fr JR/MF Soph 2006 Reever Soph JR/MF Junior 2006 Reever Junior JR/MF Senior They would both have to leave after their junior year for him to start as a junior, not a soph. Unless of course he beats them out. But he possibly wouldn't have a shot till his senior year.
