Congratulations to our Tigers. What a gutty win! People talk about improving at the O-Line, D-Line, and QB position, but really what we need to focus on as an offense is improving in the red zone. If we do better than FGs in the first half when we were dominating the game, and don't throw an INT on a third opportunity, then the game does not come down to theatrics.

This is not intended to be a negative thread! I am thrilled at being 5-0, at our win yesterday, and our overall turnover margin. I agree with others about improvements in the line play, QB play, and OC playcalling, but to me the area we really need to improve is the Red Zone. Do that, and we will dominate on the scoreboard, too. Can't be any better than 5-0, though!!!:geaux:

Yeah, we've clearly got to come up with a better plan of attack when we get close. I think one problem is Jefferson's reluctance to throw the ball into a crowded area. He second guesses himself too much as it is. When you're in the red zone, you simply have to get rid of it quickly. Think for half a second too long, and you're toast. Seems like he's at his best when he's got more room to work with. I think the coaches are aware of this shortcoming, too, as evidenced by their indecisive red zone playcalling.

It all had to do with the interception on the first series. If he throws that check down to KW and we score, it's lights out. LSU puts up 41. The playbook is open.

Unfortuntately that didn't happen. And the coaching staff put back on the kid gloves for Jefferson and by the time we needed for him to make the biggest play, he even admitted he wanted to run the ball instead (on the Scott TD run). That's a QB that's not sure of himself. He played well enough to win and that's all that counts at this point.

He managed the game. This coming week, he most likely will need to make plays.
