presumably you guys celebrate halloween even though you dont believe in draculas and goblins. oops nevermind i guess you do believe in holy ghosts and whatever. i need a better example. lets say your coworkers are going for coronas and dos equis for cinco de mayo, or pints of guiness or harp for st patricks day. do you say: "i am not irish or mexican or whatever!". no you just do the stupid celebration and dont act like a jerk. also i think it says a lot about the sad state of this miserable nation of ours that in 2010 richdog doesnt know any atheists. its like we are living in a third world ****hole.
yes, but my job makes me take it off because i wouldnt get paid even if i did work. of course, and we sit around a cozy fire sharing jesus jokes.
I drink Corona and eat tacos on Cinco de Mayo. I drink Jamesons Irish whiskey and eat corned beef on St. Patricks day. I drink malt liquor and eat black-eyed peas and corn bread during Black History Month. I drink Schwabenbrau and eat Viener Schnitzel during Oktoberfest. But nobody better give me any chit if I'm dressed as Captain America in America.
the malt liquor and cornbread thing sounds like a damn good idea. black history should be marketed better. as it stands, i hate it, it is annoying, i dont give a damn about WEB Dubois, he is boring. i cant be bothered to pretend to care about anything like that. but i do love cornbread and mac and cheese and fried chicken. market a fried chicken holiday and i will be there with my wu tang clan t-shirt on.
Okay, I have to admit. Until the last sentence I was actually reading this seriously while wondering why it would be important that Mexico was getting mayonnaise. Thanks for the chuck!:hihi:
I'm not sure I know any athiests. And I haven't celebrated Cinco De Mayo since I took Spanish in high school. I don't really ever know when St. Paddy's Day is. But I'll go to a bar and drink because I'm borederline alcoholic. Not because I'm a pretentious ass.
you do, but they keep their mouths shut about it. people think atheists are jerks. you either believe in magic, or people hate you. i cant remember the last time i didnt celebrate it. me neither but the local bars remind me, and i celebrate. thats nice.
more and more people are coming out of the atheism closet, it's still taboo, but people like Bill Maher have made it to where it's not as taboo as it was 10 years ago and beyond.
you all know atheists in the sense that you know children that have not yet been indoctrinated with the lies. everyone is born atheist.
