*10 wins for the second straight year *Defeated #5 before a national audience *High scroring offense *Hard hitting defense *Very "special" teams play *Large crowd of Tiger fans who traveled to Little Rock *Headed for top bowl game...possibly BCS *Fourth Top-10 road opponent this season ...and this was a road game. It's even better at home. *Over 92,000 fans in Tiger Stadium *Best team in the Best Conference over the last five years *Awesome tradition *Best band in the land *Beautiful campus...BEAUTIFUL WOMEN! *Tons of alumni in NFL *Academic Center for Athletes *Top facilities including new football operations center *Annual bowl game trip When you add up the whole package it doesn't get any better than this. Look at Shaq...he's been in the pros for years, won World Championships, played in movies, and is a multi-millionaire...but he still came back for his degree and regularly attends games and other functions because he said there was nothing better than being at LSU!!! I've been all around this country and been on a lot of campuses but NOTHING compares to LSU. If a young man or woman has an opportunity to attend LSU as a student or student-athlete, they should think long and hard before going elsewhere. Personal reasons may force their hand but short of that, skipping out on LSU may be a big mistake. :helmet: :crystal: , :tigbas: :champs: , :bball: :champs: , and many more  :champs: .....:geauxtige
I am always of the belief that 1 game don't shape a recruit, but you're right. 2 whole seasons do. beating Bama in their place in the last second, beating Zona St. in the last second, beating Ole Miss and Tenn in the last second, beating Ark 2 years in a row on a Fri, when there is no other game on TV at the time, beating Miami by 37, etc... all of these things start to add up after a while.
I think the following factors play into a recruit's decision most of all, and these are not in order of importance which will vary from recruit to recruit: 1. Opportunity to play 2. Nearness to home 3. Facilities 4. School tradition (Stadium, winning record, fan support, etc.) 5. Coaching staff
#5 is the most important without a doubt... There is a reason why Orgeron can haul in a #10 class regardless of where he is at... Don't get me wrong, the dude is an "x's and O's" moron, and wont have Ole Miss good anytime soon, but he can recruit real well
- Locatioin - Program prestige - Coach prestige - Academics - Playing time - Coaching strategy These are all factors
