This isn't specific to any recruits, but just a general topic. A big part of recruiting is developing relationships. You often see recruits talking about how they talk to coaches weekly & they don't usually talk about football - just about life in general. Now imagine these recruits having these conversations with multiple schools, multiple coaches at each school, and even other recruits. How much life can these recruits really talk about? You would think they'd enjoy the no contact periods as a break, but you don't generally see that. It just seems strange to me. Of course, I never came close to being recruited, so I wouldn't know personally. :hihi:
I look at it like a new car purchase...You can get the same car, at 10 different dealerships. But you always make the deal with the sales guy who you think is being honest and upfront with you. I'm willing to bet that if a recruit loves two or three schools, he'll ultimately pick the school that makes him and his family more comfortable. i.e. Like Julio Jones at bama with his black vette (allegedly). <<Jokes...But if it were me, I'd make a decision based on the coaches honesty and track record.
I would think the recruiting process has not changed much except for the advent of email, and cell phones(admittedly big), but I do think the biggest difference is the size and scope of fans following recruiting. That requires a lot more interviews then days gone by. Probably increases the number of people telling you what to do as well. I can imagine that would be completely tiresome. But some would say it's a small price to pay for a free ride at a university, a degree, and possibly a multi-million dollar career resulting from playing a game since childhood.
recruits are much like women. they never get tired of hearing how beautiful they are and thats pretty much what talking life to a recruit entails. hi its me, you're great. you're beautiful. LSU still wants you badly baby. yes, you're my one and only. click. immediately call guy at same position and repeat above.
