I spent some time on Rivals today. A few of my thoughts:

    1. Saban has locked down AL, AU is getting crushed (they have signed 2 in- state players, both 3 stars)

    2. Does anyone do a better job recruiting and have less to show for it than GA (whine, whine, we are playing better, we belong in the NC game, ignore the fact that TN blew us out, whine, whine).

    3. 3 more of the right players and we will have a fine class.

Auburn always has and always will get owned instate, where people that have actually been there know the truth. ;) They do really well in Georgia and Florida

Aren't they like #3,4 in the BCS and have won a couple of SEC crows in the past few years with no bad seasons? Just because Rivals said they have good classes doesnt mean per position they did well. They were really thin at OL for a while.

We should close as well as anyone.

I checked on GA, they won the SECCG in 02 and 05. I forgot the one in 02,
(I wish I could forget the one in 05!).

None of them are signed yet- and we can assume they will but players decommit for various reasons so don't count 'em up just yet.

You're right. Richt has been a solid recruiter every year and his teams are solid. Maybe we should remind him, Michigan has an opening.

Richt has done a fanstastic job at UGA.
    overall record: 71-19
    2 SEC titles
5 ten or more wins seasons

Also, let's not forget that they went 13-1 in 02' with a team some say was good enough to win the NC title, but there just so happen to be two undefeated teams in that season, leaving UGA out of the title game.

Since there were many comments on my GA statement, I will make my case.
A comparision of GA and LSU since 01, Richt's first year.

    Records: LSU 73-18 GA 71-19

SEC Champs: LSU 3 GA 2

    National: LSU 1 GA 0

    BCS Bowl Wins:LSU 3 GA 1

LSU certainly has the advantage, even without the NC we are about to win!

I did not mean to imply that he was a bad coach, or that GA was a bad program. I consider them a top tier program. I just wanted to note that I was surprised they did not have more hardware to show for all of their great recruiting. As I said earlier, I forgot about one of their SEC wins when I made my first post.

I hope this clarifies my position!

go dawgs, win the Sugar for the SEC

GO TIGERS! WIN THE NC FOR COACH, TIGER FANS, and the SEC!

The SEC east has been the stronger division for the most part since 01', so that may be a good reason they didn't play in more SEC title games. As far as the NC trophy, they could have easily had one in 02' going 13-1, but luck was not on their side. We attained one with the same record, but MUCH luck was on our side in 03'. The only difference in 02' UGA and 03' LSU is that the stars aligned for us and not for them. IMO we do not get the edge in that department because of the luck that it takes.

I am not from Alabama, so I don't understand why Auburn does not do better in that state. I was hoping Auburn would give Saban a lot of competition when it came to recruiting. But he apparently has written off the entire state. Saban owns Alabama.
