I'm glad it gave percentage figures to what everyone here already knows. It mentioned LSU being sandwiched between MS and TX as if MS gave us a ton of talent. It is hard to pull a recruit from his home state and from very far away. That is why I keep reiterating that we are usually too hopeful on here about our chances of signing out of state talent. We usually sign 10 to 12 from LA, 3 to 5 from TX, a couple from Ga and Fla, then the rest are 1 here and there, usually from the south.

The problem with MS is that so many of their players have qualification issues. After Louisiana & Texas, they & Florida are probably the states we pull the most players from though.

Absolutely. Even if guys are favoring us, they often get turned towards teams closer to home as the year goes along.

Actually beginning in 2006 we have taken more out of Georgia than MS. We have been getting 2 a year on average. Before 2006 we were getting more from MS than from GA. I think it is a good sign, since GA has more fertile grounds. I also believe that in many cases we may have thought we had better options outside of MS at various positions and may have pulled one or two more out of MS had we gone after them hard.

Yes, that was a new development under Miles. We never used to get many guys out of Georgia.
