The new Tiger Rag (BCS Preview) has a couple good write-ups on a couple recruits. The first was LB Deion Jones from Jesuit. He was first a verbal to Nebraska, but once Les offered, it made it too easy. He talks about having to give Neb. the news of his switch. He talks about his family life, distance from home and being away from his family and friends. He has a ton of friends at LSU. The second is the OL Derek Edinburgh, his high school coach, Jabbar Juluke, goes more into detail. Juluke played at Southern and help them win the BNC in 1993, his cousin is also Eric Bieniemy. His coach talks more about life and life after football. Many of the in state reruits would do good to read these two articles. Les does a great job of finding good kids. These are two.
If Collins & Devall both go to Alabama i'm gonna be sick. I have always hated Alabama & can't stand the evil one once he left LSU. I understand all the explainations about not being able to get them all but losing the two top rated players in the state to Alabama is like a slap in the face. The Collins deal is a mystery to me, how can a kid in the Baton Rouge area not wanta play for the Tigers. 13-0! Number 1 in the nation, we beat Alabama in Alabama. Something is not adding up. I hope LSU stomps a mud hole in their booty! I'm upset!:geaux:
Blindside517 - love your enthusiasm and hope that Collins signs with LSU, but you have to look at reality. It is obvious as it can be where not only did his mother want him to go, but his father action "of not being on the stand" as to where his father wanted him to go. So the family wants him to stay home and go to LSU, but he is a young kid and did you see what we were fighting. I hate to tell you this but his girlfriend behind him is freaking stunning and he his following his loins right now. It happens sometimes you don't think with the right head. It happens with young people all the time. I can tell you I know I have made mistakes while following the opposite sex. But that is how life is, but don't expect miracles here that little woman has got that boy seeing stars, trying to compete with that right now ain't going to happen!!!
Clue that Collins now puts Mayonise on everything is a clue that the girl friend is the major influence in his life.
I believe Ware was a five-star. Ego is from Maryland and was at least a four-star, as was J.C. Copeland from Georgia.
