I am a bit confused on the number of scholarships this year. I know we may have been through this already, but can someone clear it up for me. We have 19 committed recruits as of now. So here are the strong possibilties that I have listed in my mind, adding to that number. 20. Craig Lotson 21. Rueben Randle 22. Andre Debose 23. Barkevious Mingo 24. Xavier Nixon, Marcus Hall, Xavier Su'a-Filo, John Martinez 25. William Campbell 26. Dyron Dye, Sam Montgomery, Ed Stinson 27. Jarvis Jones 28. Jon Bostic, Frankie Telfort 29. Branden Smith I thought we only had about 23 ships to offer this year Where is the priority in these listed and who will be the casualities?
I think we will have up to 26 in this class but could be less if we do not land a few we are after. I would say 23-26. My projections: 20. Craig Lotson 21. Rueben Randle 22. Andre Debose (I would not call him a lock but we have a great shot) 23. Barkevious Mingo 24. Xavier Su'a-Filo or Xavier Nixon 25. Josh Johns ( Dont sleep on him, LSU wants a 2nd safety) 26. Dyron Dye, Sam Montgomery, Ed Stinson (1st come, 1st serve) 27. Jarvis Jones or Telfort Someone will be left out.
I am more apt to put Loston, and Mingo in the lock category. Debose could be a stronger lean than RR at this point, hard to tell since Randle gives virtually no interviews. Don't forget Benton will require a slot too. That puts us at 24. We probably take any 2-3 of these: Randle J Jones Dyron Dye Myles Telfort Ray Ray Armstrong Patrick Patterson Su'a Filo
Yeah I would still count on these: Loston Randle Mingo Debose Benton That's 25. I think Helton ends up being a preferred walk-on. That's 24. Then there are the "takes" at the following positions: OL Sua'Filo or Nixon or Hall S Myles or Armstrong DE Stinson or Dye or Montgomery LB Jones or Telfort Do we go as high as 28? Probably not. But then again I don't see how we can pull in everybody I just listed in those 5 slots anyway. I do believe we take both Jones and Telfort, as LB is such a great need with only Baker looking to be promising at that position (of those currently on the team). Sua'Filo probably takes the mormon mission, that would lower it by 1. My guess is we end up with 26 with the possibility of Sua'Filo and the mormon mission making 27.
I didn't even see that Barrow committed. My bad. That's funny, bhelm didn't catch it either and he's the one who posted about Barrow. Then it's either Jones or Telfort, whomever commits first.
Next question is, who is going to coach the LBs, DBs, and who is going to call the defense. If a change is coming, that might be a factor in February too.
I suspect the change will be made either the weeks following the Arkansas game or right after the bowl game. Not sure how Miles will handle it.
I assumed Master had him in his projections as well but I did forget to add Benton and Duplessis. Also I Should have put Myles or Josh Johns
