slow. and a jerk. i think they tried him a bit as FB there was a whole group of them. james jaquet, david butler, williams, davis, robert toomer. with so many busts and good defensive talent, its hard not to conclude that it was all lynn amadee and whoever the other OC was.
someone mentioned brad smalling which is whom I was trying to think of at first. that dude was not good.
He has still produced better on the diamond than on the football field. And if that was totally true, he would have a steady diet of offspead crap without a one fastball thrown. I know he has trouble with the offspeed stuff but I can't think of a player who ever hasn't at some point in their career. Combine that with the fact that he has never focused solely on baseball to help him get that part of his game down, I think he might surprise us all with that aspect of his game this year...
As I recall, that was one of those "year of the running back" classes, like Harvey, Slip, Saulberry and Moss in the same year. Wasn't Sammy Seamster (another disappointment) part of that same class with Davis, Toomer, et al?
