The hypocrisy of this entire argument is had LSU lost at BD, even if LSU won out, there's no discussion about a BCSNC rematch between the two... So why is Bama so special? Bama lost the head to head AT home... and yes I posted in the original thread on this subject, had LSU lost to Bama we would not deserve to play a rematch, but we didn't, so you don't.
If Ok State wins out they deserve to jump over alabamer. Living out in California, I heard all the USC whiners in 03 but that year LSU played one more game than USC - which should be the same for a couple teams below alabamer.
How can we know that? We were the only 2 loss team to play in a title game (and rightly so). How can we not feel we'd be given fair treatment?
I think Alabama'ss press machine has started. Unless OSU kills OU next week Alabama will go to the national championship.
shouldnt be bama---lsu won on the road late in the season. someone elses turn. but... if uga wins they should represent the sec. same sec record and won the h2h.
USC should have gone instead of OU. We had the discussion that season. It definitely would have prevented a split championship. Alabama's problem is that a lot of people are going to question why they should go when they didn't win their Conference, let alone their division. VT killed Virginia tonight. Big deal? Yeah, probably, but there will be voters who want to take a hard look at conference champions in lieu of putting in Bama. Obviously, Okie St. is in the best position here because of their computer strength, so if they can beat up on OU, can they get enough humans to go their way? I'm not even sure that Okie St. can drill OU. OTOH, Clemson is playing like crap and VT "looks" stronger and will likely drill Clemson in the ACCCG. But VT lags in the computers and will have difficulty jumping Bama. No matter how this shakes out, lots of people are going to be pissed. These other one-loss conference champs are going to be pissed, and the rest of the country is going to be pissed with an all-SEC matchup. OTOH, if Bama gets left out, only half of Alabama is pissed and any anger in the SEC will have to dry up because they have a participant already in the big game. While these all may be BS considerations, we live in a BS world, so I would not discount them.
LSU fans, you are embarrassing yourselves. You make yourselves look like a scared bunch of pansies. If the prospect of facing Alabama again is so frighting, then blow the game with Georgia and let the chips fall. BTW, I would not have even thought about typing that unless what I just read had not been so provocative.
FAIL! You typify the crying that will not be heard coming from Alabama if you are passed over. I can see it already here. Do not feed the trolls, people.
Remember though, we won the SECCG in 2007, which greatly helped our moving up in the rankings combined with losses by teams ahead of us. Bama can't make this argument; they didn't even win their own division. :geauxtige
