But LSU gets a shot at the SEC title. Yeah not worth the risk.

Frankly, the SECCG has not been fair most years. Either east or west divisions have been so dominate since 1992 that rarely has the second best team in the conference, record wise, played the team with the best record. What would have been fair if South Carolina had upset the barn last season? They would have been declared the best in the SEC even though they had lost numerous SEC games. It has always been a ridiculously flawed system since the first time an undefeated Alabama team played a Florida team with numerous SEC losses in the first SECCG. Only one team had everything to lose

Until we get a fair playoff, it will always be ever so easy to pick these major flaws and shortcomings that are mostly unfair.

I think you may have missed the point a little bit. The "unfair" part is not having to play a "lesser" team in a championship game. That is and always will and should be a part of sports. The "unfair" part is LSU having to play an EXTRA game while Bama gets to sit home and wait on a BCSCG opponent. This is all b/c they lost at home to LSU. LSU's reward for winning on the road is having to play another (possibly) top 10-12 opponent.

I digress, though, as I for one welcome the opportunity to play Alabama again. This time in NO for the BCS title.

and if (god forbid, mojo rooster) lsu has anyone nicked up in the least little bit in a possible seccg, while the gumps are sitting home eating cheetos and resting, i will possibly go psycho bitch crazy.

Why should it? It is only a part of the sport today, because someone changed the old system of picking SEC champions based solely on who had won the MOST games that season. Imagine that? 20 years ago the SEC adopted a system that says, just because you won the most games in your conference, why should that make you the best in that conference. I don't see the "sport" in that, or the fairness.

If Georgia upsets LSU in the SECCG, they win the SEC title when at least 3 SEC teams have better or equal records. Can you not see that these CCG are doing the exact opposite of what you expect the BCS to do for you? You know, reward the best team with a championship game.

Wow, a bama fan talking about the " best team"! I wonder who the best team is? Let me see if I can get this one right.
Bama wins- they're the "best team".
Bama loses- they're still the "best team" that beat themselves.

We all know that only bama can beat bama because they're always the
    " best team".
Actually, bama is such the " best team" that they don't even need to prove themselves in a silly ole conference championship. The two " best teams" get to play in the championship game. Hey, I got an idea! Let's postpone the bcs championship game and just wait till the bama spring game and call it the championship game. If we do that then we know the "best team" will win. That's a great idea! I bet half the espn commentators will agree with me on that idea. That way we know that the "best team" will both beat themselves and win.

For the hard of hearing. If there was no CCG in my world, here is how it all plays out. LSU is declared the winner of the SEC this year, based only on the crazy concept they beat all comers with the schedule they were given. They go directly to the BCS, NC game. They don't pass anywhere near Atlanta and they patiently wait, while the rest of the football world hopes and prays they are selected through the BCS process to be the opponent.

See how simply it gets when everyone stops catering to Slive and his version of SEC fiscal renewal?

I got what you were saying the whole time. And it's duly noted.

But that isn't the system in place, and so LSU...assuming it wins tomorrow...gets screwed for beating Bama. And Bama gets rewarded for losing.

I'm not saying there's anything we can do about it. Just saying it isn't right. I THINK we agree on that...not sure.

The ultimate would be to just let LSU stay home, let Bama and Arky (the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the SEC & country) go play again for the right to play LSU in the BCSNCG. Of course, that wouldn't happen...AND the result would be the same. LSU/Bama NCG. But at least LSU would be rewarded with time to heal up, risking no additional injuries, and would get to collect more film for whomever they'd be playing. You know, kinda like the bye week an NFL team gets when they have the best record.

Provided LSU wins tomorrow, we essentially will have to win the SEC twice to make the BCS CG while Bama punched their ticket by losing at home. That is crap.

Just say bama was in the SEC East and everything was the same(Rankngs, etc). We play them in the SECCG, we win(9-6), would we play them in the NC game?

Just another of the scenarios showing what a ludicrious situation this is. And we havent even heard from the other one loss teams that happen to be their conference champions and what they think about getting passed over for a non-conference champion that lost at home. If and when that happens, the anger will be volcanic. And people will be even more sick of the SEC.

I expect the human voters to start reflecting this in their voting and refuse to reward Alabama for losing.
