If we played Vandy instead of Florida in '07 we might not have gone to the title game. Same in '03. We play enough creampuff lil bitch schools in our non-conference schedule, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't add one to our conference slate.
Right. So, you're a ({}). Got it. "I'll take this team, and I'll play any sucker in this country". - Les Miles
we'll play 3 east teams every year. when our OOC looks like this: Troy North Texas Tulane App St Other than Michigan fans, everyone laughs at sorry excuse for a schedule. Then in conference: Sometimes Bama, and sometimes Auburn get a good deal of national love. Arky, Ole Miss, Miss St aren't a real threat to ever win the SEC, let alone garner any love Nationally. What if our 3 East opponents are Vandy, Kentucky, So Carolina, (none of whom will win their DIVISION any time soon)? We get left out of the title hunt because our schedule is full of High School teams. Screw THAT! Gimme Florida every year to offset the crap teams. Hell, give me Florida AND Georgia every year, and replace North Texas with a mid level BCS school. I'm freaking tired of goingto games against ULL, La Tech, ULM, Houston, etc. etc. For the price we pay for season tickets, bring inn some competition!
i hear ya, but that's more of a problem with LSU and it's OOC scheduling. i would think they would break it up where you would at least have a UGA or a UF on your schedule in any given year. maybe LSU schedules cupcakes OOC b/c we play UF every year. maybeif we had a year with let's say tenn, uk, carolina; we could have a better OOC game that year. but i know you're thinking without giving the Ath dept the benefiit of the doubt to schedule good ooc games even in lean year scheds. i could see that happening too.
I like the way they do it and that is what makes college football great. The schedules are never going to be even so why not keep the century old rivalries. The Big XII still has uneven schedules so why not allow teams like Nebraska and Oklahoma the opportunity to play each other annually? Two years ago Florida finished behind Tennessee and Georgia - it evens itself out.
