it means the major sports houses can hedge all winning preseason bets on LSU or Alabama to win the title.

if Okst made it to the game and won, they could face very large loses at 30/1, and would further be in trouble bc LSU would have been favored by 10ish and thats a lot to lay also (but they can move the line on that one).

they cant move the line on pre-season bets.

So if okie lite wouldve made it Vegas would have lost lots of money but because bama made it instead Vegas either doesn't lose or actually makes money?

well the preseason odds on lsu and bama at ~12/1 or 14/1 is not that bad if either of them win....the have ALL the bets of ALL the other 119 division 1 schools that didn't win that will pay that bet off.

the 1/30 is at least twice as bad, along with potentially taking a bath on the game line as it would be a very tough line (because LSU has to lay points vs okst, and it is a game where okst could score 30 if the conditions are right).

with the LSU/BAMA game, the betting should be close to 50/50 so vegas makes 10 percent on the losing bets, and has their preseason bets covered.

its a pretty silly conspiracy theory that only degenerate sports betters would even consider!

something like that... vegas had okie state as 30 to 1 odds at finishing 2nd and bama was 15 to 1 odds.... anyone who bet on okie state, who based on resume should have been number 2, lost their ass, and the payout wasn't nearly as large on bama, in fact, it was half. thats what i got out of it.... someone correct me if i am wrong.

These bets are small time bets. They have small limits. They make plenty on them because of all the idiots who make bets on sucky teams.
