With the Barners game approaching, I was curious about a comment here today re: the AU stomping of the Eye, the subsequent LSU onside kick/TD, the LSU trombonist who was having no shyt from an AU punter (at 8:02 of the video), the win in DV by LSU.

We were on fire that night! Watch ten minutes of LSU history here: then (as in this year) we had a multidimensional team, with great D, long verticals, some big, big hits, and, watching this 10+ minute recap, you come away with the knowledge that nobody--nobody--screws with the Eye of the Tiger on a Saturday Night in Death Valley!

Time to steal a laptop computer, have your daddy receive some illicit cash, light some cigars, renew your earthquake homeowner's insurance, buy out all the TP in Toomer's Corner and set a barn or two on fire.

Used to have a member here, who's signature read; I'd rather a daughter in a whorehouse than a son at auburn. Pretty fitting.

Thanks gyno for the great memories. In all fairness Auburn has never figured out what their mascot is. I do not believe they realized it was a tigers eye. They thought it was the eye of mordor looking down on them. However, they finally realized it was looking up on them, so they figured they would send there kicker out before halftime was over, to apologize to the eye. They just did not realize that the band was going to kick his ass.

Yep. It was great to see the AU player, in full padding, get a nice one-handed shove from the LSU band member, who was basically telegraphing, "hey asshat, nobody here in DV is gonna take any of your crap--not me, not our water boy--nobody!"

Thinking on our 1st half sleepwalk yesterday: maybe we needed some insult to the gods of Death Valley to get our guys pumped. 'Cause from the looks of that ten minute recap above, our guys came out armed with machetes, looking to take some heads.

Great memories indeed. I expect that LSU will walk into their house and put a beatdown on them. It will look something like this:

Great D? LOL no. The D was atrocious that year, but we had the most prolific passing duo in the school's history in Davey and Reed. He's still running wide ass open at Bryant-Denny. Between them, Michael Clayton, Domanick Davis, and LeBrandon Toefield, honestly, I don't know how we didn't score more points than we did. We racked up TONS of yards that year, but had trouble getting in the end zone.

Another note about the D: Demetrius Hookfin was the best CB on the team that year, and he was...what's a nice way to put it...still a year away from becoming serviceable.
