I have come to the conclusion that LSU is exactly what we see. An un-matured football team that expects to win every game. Maturity being the issue. Last year, the big difference is that they worked so hard to beat Bama and did. Really, that is all they cared about and wanted because they knew that once they did that, not a team on this earth could stop them. They were right about this btw. We have no identity this year. Yea, we have a good D, but don't kid yourself, they are terribly young and will not be as dominate as last year. (still a top 10-15 D in the country, just will have a few more breakdowns this year because of youth) The O is a tragic mess. You can say we had lots of yards and "if not for", but that's a lie. Fundamentals and playing clean smart ball is all part of being a good team. A good team doesn't put the ball on the ground 6 times in 2 games. Need I mention the penalties? I am not a hater and I want the best for this team as I do believe we have the talent to be undefeated, but there is a big gap in between talent vs. potential and we are seeing that this year. We just aren't mature enough at the skill positions that make the big plays we need. We are grinders. After week 5 it is clear we will see many great plays and many stupid ones, but I do not think we will ever see this team quit. While I am upset at our position I will not quit on them either, but I do have a new perception that the only way we win out is through shear hard work because we have not worked hard enough yet. I hate to say this as it is awesomely gay, but this year the fans might play their biggest role yet.
I am spoiled and it is a good guess 80% of us are. Like many have posted, winning is sure as shit better than losing, but we do need to come back down a little. We have the talent but it just isn't performing like last year...
