I'm curious to see which teams made the trek. Right now, the only teams that I can think of that went to the west coast in recent years are us this year, us at Az. St. in 2005, Tenn at Cal a couple of years ago when they were awful, Auburn in 2002 (neither were followed by a conference game), Georgia at Az. St. last year (lost to Bama following week), and Arkansas at USC in 2005 (lost to Bama the following week). I guess my point is that the statistic could be skewed. I think it may have more to do with the quality of the team that made the trip and that of the next opponent moreso than the trip itself.
Tenn went to UCLA last year but won their next game. Alabama went to UCLA in maybe 01 or 02, something like that. I dont know what happened to them the week after that.
Relax Fishhead. If you're going to get emotional about trends, try this one on....Vanderbilt has not won in Baton Rouge since 1951.
