The internet can be full of it but the truth hurts. Its there in black and white for all to see :thumb:
Meyer is a fuggn snake. We all learned that after the way he handled TT's recruitment and the way he tried to railroad Patrick Peterson.
many have villified Saban for offering a full scholarship from the Saban Foundation to the girlfiriend of Tana Patrick in order to obtain a commitment from the highly-touted prospect (which worked, BTW) but few realize that Urban Meyer has been doing this for years. A loophole? .... yes. Unethical? .... absofrickinlutely.
Bama coaches were visiting last night. No word here about how it went. Supposedly the coaches arent back and word hasnt leaked about how the visit went.
Sure, the Saban's donated $100K when they first arrived and since have donated another 1MM to this scholarship fund. This Scholarship fund is known as the Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship Fund. Since its inception, quite a few students have attended the University. The first twelve were awarded the scholarship in 2006. The second 12, in 2007, and so on. This scholarship fund has been around for over 15 years and while it happens to be relatively new at UA it's so far from being an unethical situation it astounds me you would even imply such. A student, any student has to apply for the grant-in-aid. They are required to have maintained a 3.0 GPA, and those that are given first priority are selected based on financial need. The Saban foundation? Yeah, that was around in 2006 when the first dozen were awarded the scholarship. Tana isn't committed to Bama yet. But, like Dre Kirkpatrick, where he is going to attend school hasn't been a secret. The attempt to try to put something "unethical" into Tana's recruitment is another example of distortion of facts: blatant distortion. I guess we are to assume Saban gave her the application? I assume he had a role in her maintaining her GPA throughout High School? I assume he also had a role in her family's well being in order for her to qualify under the FAFSA guidelines? Or, perhaps, this is yet another REC situation...
The facts are Facts, and people trying to justify this behavior, or just a sleazy of a douche bag as Saban or Myers.
