I dont get the impression those close to the gumps are nervous. Which would make it that much sweeter if we steal him. Hell, I would be overjoyed if he went to Florida. Anywhere but Alabama.
I have to say that that's about the most honest thing I've read in the last 7 pages of this thread. I've yet to see anything to make me believe that we have a high chance of landing Richardson. I can't stand when fans hear a rumor from some guy that was a legit source and then run with it. There's nothing wrong with speculation. I love the conversation. But it seems like some of us are blinded by our teams colors. I'm LSU all the way but there's no reason to think this guy won't attend Bama or Florida before he attends LSU. All 3 of these schools are fine universities with alot to offer. For any one person to think their teams is more likely to land this guy (with the exception of maybe Bama) is ludicrous. And as for the Florida poster in this thread. You continue to post all you want brutha. In the end you are entitled to your opinion, all be it just that. Florida will be the favorite next year. But remember this, parody happens every weekend in college football. You guys should be just as scared to see us on your schedule as we are to see you on ours.
Parity, too. Parody is what happens each December, when Pete Carroll protests that his team is America's best.:hihi:
Plenty of recruits love LSU & don't end up committing here. Loving a visit does not make that program the favorite. Florida obviously put themselves into better position with a great visit, but they still have to overcome the offensive scheme issue.
I don't know that the scheme was an issue... You could put it like that, but I think one of the big things he likes about Alabama is that he doesn't have to learn a new playbook rather than how he would fit in said playbook. I've read a few quotes of him talking about that, so that's what I'm getting this from if you need to know.
See, I respectfully disagree with your last statement. I agree that offensive scheme may come into play as far as where a player goes but I don't believe its the deciding factor. And frankly this current LSU offense doesn't in my opinion offer the best opportunity for Richardson to play. I mean, let's face it we're almost running a spread option ourselves. We just haven't had the players to do it. And now we do. If Richardson's main concern is scheme then he's going to Bama not LSU or Florida. They run the ball more than we do. Their offense is a run first pass second offense. In the end a kid's gonna address his own concerns and desires about where he wants to play. I think a kid may play in a scheme that may not suit his talents 100% if he thinks he's gonna win Championships or if its closer to home. I'm not saying scheme won't be an issue but I think if the kid loves Florida then he's gonna go there regardless.
scheme is a good question here ... what they hell kind of scheme do we really run? Are we just exploring everything and see what works best? We go from running shotgun 1st and 2nd and line up in the I for 3rd and long (just using it as a example)
