True. But, one cannot predict injuries or success at the next level. KW has been a disappointment, JVincent was a one year wonder, so you never know. Can't have too many 5* backs, IMO. Agree with your comments if it were Ford vs. TR, but if we can get both, why not? Esp. after the loss of DPratt.
Lol. Yeah, I'm sure that someone is going to step right in and fill Percy's shoes. It will be like he isn't even gone. Were you born in Tuscaloosa, by any chance? OK, you're right. We will be much better in 2010... We're still talking about 2010, right? By that point, it will be on the order of 15 or 16 starts (including 2 bowl games) under Jefferson's belt...whereas your guy will have none. That's a convenient way to rationalize it, I suppose. But it's still the most competitive conference in the country, bar none. But, don't let me convince you that it won't be the cakewalk you think it will be. Find out for yourself. I know what you meant, but I stand by my previous assertion. Insinuating that the transition will go anywhere nearly as smoothly as USC's have in recent years is off-base, to put it mildly. I don't know much about this Brantley guy, but if he's the 'drop-back' passer you say he is, wouldn't that make him an bad fit for the spread option? Like Chris Leake?
I agree with what you say about Ford, but when you have the chance to take any talent away from Alabama or Florida don't you take it? Its not like having TR hurts, he is a hell of an insurance policy if ford goes down
Two interesting quotes.. http://www.crimsonconfidential.com/news/articles/2009/1/27/richardsons-coach-debunks-rumor My question is -- was LSU ahead of UF -- before UF made up all that ground? His recruitment seems to have been busted wide open after his LSU visit.. and that can only be a good thing. As islstl was saying.. hold on to your hats.. we have a 3 horse race. On a positive note.. Coach Miles has an in-home visit with him tomorrow.
Go elsewhere? So you do not like having Scott, Williams, Murphy, Holliday-- We need TR as much as we need Ford. As for the rumor of him decomitting from Bama: it sure is nice that if he has, he did it after our visit and not Florida's.
That tells me a lot about how we feel about our current position with Richardson. We have a legit shot.
"As far as I know, he's still committed to Alabama," Escambia coach Jimmie Nichols said. "He enjoyed the visit from coach Meyer yesterday and he enjoyed his visit to LSU but liked Florida better. Every time I talk to the kid, he comes back to Alabama." Rivals
