FYI, in case anyone is curious as to what is happening with this kid. There were rumors going around to a small degree that possibly LSU was going to offer Lacy if his grades were in order. He supposedly hasn't gotten 19 on his ACT but has some work to do in the classroom but it is possible he could qualify. Alabama is said to be a take for him if he indeed is close to qualifying. Otherwise he ends up at Southern Miss, the school that obviously has little requirements in order to qualify. Ole Miss is also in the mix. LSU never really went after Lacy. The rumors about him being a bad kid are apparently overblown.
Re: Eddie Lacy Sounds like grade concerns. Bama lost a good amount of recruits from their #1 class to grades didn't they? With so many top ranked running back options for LSU sounds like they didn't want to waste time with someone who is such a grades risk. Sound right?
Re: Eddie Lacy Once we got Pratt, then that put Lacy at an extreme disadvantage concerning grades. LSU would not pick up a RB with a grades issue when the need for a 3rd RB wasn't there to begin with. Had he had his grades in order, maybe we pick up Lacy and Ford and that would have been it. We probably would not have offered Pratt.
Re: Eddie Lacy I'm not sure that the rumors about Lacey being a bad kid are overblown. His coach said that he's just got some maturity issues. What else would he say? You think he's going to come out & bash his own player? I'm not saying that Lacey is a thug, but I certainly wouldn't classify him as a high character recruit.
Re: Eddie Lacy Iffy grades + "maturity issues" + Ford + Pratt = Probably not going to be a Tiger. Sounds reasonable to me.
Re: Eddie Lacy Well I think the coach coming out to make a point about his character issue being overblown says volumes. Obviously he isn't going to bash the kid, but I bet it indeed was overblown.
Re: Eddie Lacy I made a few comments about his character issues earlier this season based on what a few of his classmates told me. Sure some can been considered maturity such as not being dedicated, lazy, and a lack of respect for authority. But it is still a risk because we same the same attitudes in college and the NFL everyday. Double-edged sword that I can agree with Miles not taking. I do know he was arrested last summer as well but I can not remember what it was for.
Re: Eddie Lacy Rumor is LSU is trying after Lacy now and Lacy is saying thanks but no thanks. Bama supposedly stands a good chance at getting him.
