:geaux: Yeah, I just go by what I read on the forum and the few articles I've read here and there. I haven't been to his my space or anything and haven't done any serious research. Just going by what's been posted it sounded like maybe he had some issues. If he does have issues, like a wife and kid if that's true, maybe it's better he does go somewhere else that's a better fit if he's not comfortable at LSU. Better to find out now rather than later. :LSU231:

Yeh I assure you there are plenty of players we cheer every Saturday no different then this kid. He changed is mind, no big deal. . I concur with islstl.
    Good luck to him

You gotta realize it's the culture. This kid, as with most inner city kids, feel they have to represent and come "hard". It's the hip hop generation they live in, he can't come off sounding like some twerp on his myspace.

You meet the kid in public and he may be as well spoken and humble and polite as can be. And I am sure that's how he comes off to Les Miles and the staff as well as any other coach he gets visited by.

FYI, we don't even know if he is really married. Lots of info on myspace is fake (e.g., like the salary they make).

Btw, do you think Russell Shepard listens to Glen Campbell?

I'm not sure about other recruits, but there are plenty of players on the team with kids who aren't married....

The great Kevin Faulk had kids while he as a student at LSU. No one ever passed judgment on him.

Im not talking about players who where already here. I know there are lots of college players who have kids and may or may not be married. Im talking about high school seniors who are married with kids.

Well, I hope he's down with it, because all that gangsta stuff is very cool for 17-18-year-old kids.

Someone who is a husband and a dad is usually more dependable and stable. It's definitely not something that should be held against him. In fact many from his background grew up without a dad and many are fathers that have no contact with the mother or kids. It actually sounds like he is trying to do the right thing. It shouldn't be tied in with the rather confusing situation with his supposed decommitment.

A lot of those players had the kids while they were in HS, and is being unwed better? You seem to be implying that it is.

Neither is good IMHO. Having kids is HS is a result of reckless behavior.
