No doubt if we get Seastrunk and some other really good power back in 2010, then we will soon be over the fact that Pratt chose some other school over LSU. But that isn't guaranteed. What if we don't get those guys? Looks like any RBs we will want in 2010 will all be out of state guys. There will be some work to do in getting them.

You forgot about Stevan Ridley who is probably a better power runner than all of the above players. If Stevan gets his chance, he will be a great RB.

I like Pratt as a power runner, and I do think we should have taken 2 RBs in this class. However, with 2 FBs who can run the ball, I'm not too concerned about this.

Ridley is definitely going to take over that void in 2010 as the power back. He will be a senior then. We just need someone ready for the 2011 season.

So if we pick someone up in the 2010 recruiting season, they will be in their 2nd year with LSU and ready to go.

This year LSU has great depth at RB, and starting 2010 LSU likely comes in with Murphy (SR) Ridely (JR) and Ford (RSFR or SO) then hopefully Seastrunk as a (FR). I think LSU must have 2 rbs in this class, otherwise the position gets thin in 2010. CAlhoun has played RB but with his build that does not seem likely.

This could also put an end to all the speculation/suggestion that Murphy should be moved to WR, he will be needed next year at RB.

I think Murphy moving over to WR could still happen. Ridley would then be option #3 in the running game, which I would like to see since he will have to play a more prominent role in 2010.

Whether Murphy will be needed or not, he may not be cut out for RB.

Calhoun could maybe take some Percy Harvin type RB snaps, but otherwise he is not a RB.

The position does get thin in 2010, but I feel pretty good about Ridely & Ford will have a year in the system by then. Recruiting 2 to 3 RBs next year will be paramount.

Is Pratt back in Navasota, TX? That's like a 5.5 hour drive from Baton Rouge... 11 hours round-trip. I assume Miles and Porter would fly there on an LSU jet?

And today is the day we have the two NFL conference championship games -- NFC at 2pm followed by AFC at 5:30pm

Most likely flying there and I am sure they would rather work than watch the games right now.
