    Indisputable evidence.

    Repeat after me.

    Indisputable evidence.

We hear it all the time.

Obviously one replay official did not get the memo. The winning TD by Pittsburgh was called down on the 1 foot line and would have won the game for Baltimore and given them an inside track to a division title, not to mention a bye week.

The replay official overturned it and said it was a touchdown instead. Anybody with any sense can easily tell there is no way you overturn that call, no matter which way it was called. It was just too close to be able to tell.

Hopefully replay officials' jobs are under review every season.

I've said this many, many times and people criticize this opinion and still will here, probably, but I don't care.

I think replay is a joke and should be blown up and done away with.

Every week we have 3-4 calls a week that are challenged and they STILL get the call wrong when looking at it.

This was one of the cases.

I'd rather live with the bad calls that come with human error than to waste 10-15 minutes per game and waste the money for the fancy TVs, etc... for a system that doesn't work.

Getting rid of it completely is extreme, but the current system DEFINITELY needs to be tweaked. Big-time.

Another problem with the replay/challenge system is there are idiot, er Sean payton, coaches that haven't a clue when to challenge.

But i liked the overturn on that call, i won a fantasy game because of it! :thumb:

Ridiculous. Just like your love affair with that team killer Owens.

You don't cut off your nose to spite your face. Sure there are mistakes but replay is much better than the way it used to be. It also makes it more difficult for rogue refs to dirty up the game

    1. Owens is running the Cowboys straight into the ground right now. They're only up 11 on the defending champs. How freggin lame is that?

    2. For every 3-4 a week that might get reversed, there are 3-4 they might not get right anyway.

    So what's the difference?

My solution is to either tweak the system or to just hire better referees.

One team in particular (the Chargers) had their season ruined . . . literally by the officials.

Give them one more win and one less loss and give Denver one less win and one more loss and the AFC West is a lot more interesting right now.

that had nothing to do with replay.

still a horrible call, but doing away with replay still doesn't change the outcome of that game.

Yeah, but i think clair was using that game to say how horrible the refs are in the NFL.

When Ed Hochuly replayed that call he actually admitted that it was the wrong call. He was also horrible in the Saints/Vikes game too.

    They're human.
No matter who you replace them with, they'll makes mistakes too.
Some will seem irrelevant, some will affect the outcome of games.

it was going to my point about hiring better officials, not about replay.

and I know they'll make mistakes.

It's just hard to tell a man who loses blood and sweat all year that he'll lose his chance at the playoffs b/c of a mid 50s man who never played in the NFL.
