The game was ours to put away in the first 4 possessions of the game. Unfortunately for whatever reason, LSU struggled to get any rhythm going on offense and we put up a total of just 6 points, which could have easily been 17 or 20 before Arkansas would even score.

I told my friend once Arkansas scored to make it 7-6, that the game would go down to the very last play. It was Alabama all over again, allowing the other team to "hang around".

It's really too bad Flynn couldn't get it together in the first half. Great to see him fight like a champ in the 2nd however. He really came through.

Arkansas was more talented than was given credit for. They were a dangerous team to play. I think everyone knew that. I know I feared this game.

As bad as the loss hurt, it was one helluva exciting game.

CBS should sign a contract with us to show all our games from now on, like NBC does with Notre Lame. They are raking in millions because of us.

First, no team has repeated as BCS champ since its inception for a reason; it is hard to do whether you play in a "tough conference" or a "weak" one. We had a good run, in the end injuries and sloppy play caught up to us.

The D played great in the first half, with the hogs only score coming on a drive kept alive by a questionable interference call (of course the D had every opportunity to stop them again). Our O played great in the second half. To bad we never got the two to play a whole game with the exception of VT (and MTSU and La TECH).

Still have a chance to be conf champs, geaux tigers!

A NC team has to be good(we are), have a the ball bounce right (we did alot) and not have injuries (we had a lot)

Charles Alexander, Glen Dorsey, Craig Steltz, Darryn Beckwith, Terrance Toliver, Holliday,

No excuses, everyone gets beat up in the SEC, but I think this was a huge contributer.

Yes injuries were key. Can I ask why did the coaches let Dorsey paly if he was still hurt? Please I am just asking. I thought it hurt more than helped? I may be way off base here but JMHO.

You're not off base at all. I thought Dorsey was ineffective both of these past 2 games. Would have been a better shot using the backups. I am sure he told Miles he could go and wanted to be out there. He is a gamer. I just think ultimately it hurt us a bit too much.

Man I am sure glad to hear that. I was thinking the coaches would pull him out by the 4th Qt. As far as you BCS fallout on the other thread, I could not agree more. I am hoping to play Ga. in the SECCG. I feel if WV was to drop one and UO wins the BIG 12 and we beat UG we still have a shot. Of course living in Columbus as I do, tOSU fans are a happy bunch this night. :geaux:

why is it that all the OSU folks were happy to see Les leave three years ago? I guess we know now.

yes, players made mistakes. but, 4 and 10 and casey dick has a minute to throw...did we decide to stop blitzing? yes, the matchups were tough to blitz with DMac in the backfield as QB but he wasn't running as QB that play...no way on 4/10.

are we better than the top 10 teams? Yes. definately.

do we play that way? not at all.

Looking back on this game--and I needed every bit of the time from the INT to end it until now to cool off--when you have a player like Dorsey, who's playing hurt, not 100%, and has to keep coming out of the game...PLUS your starting MLB (Beckwith) coming back from knee surgery for the first time in 2 weeks, and you're going up against the best running game in the SEC AND best PLAYER in college football, it's no surprise that this game was anything but close. The situation/circumstances just favored Arkansas, IMO.

I told my dad prior to kickoff: "The running game will decide this game for both teams. If we control the clock and end drives with TOUCHDOWNS and force Arkansas to play from behind, we win. If not, and the game is close...." ...well, we know how that turned out.

Offensively, this was yet another game (in a list of games this season) where Flynn looked very bad. I can't remember any other #1 ranked team constantly have the same mistakes we've made over the majority of the season. From yet ANOTHER "illegal procedure" to negate a TD to another "blown coverage" on your opponent's final play to snatch victory from our grasp.

This game is going to be a "gut check" for this team. Either we can lay down and die, or we can show our grit and make it to a BCS bowl game. It's our players' choice.
