We were very close to being 7-5 or 6-6 rather than 10-2, the other games this year that were close I had a feeling we would win somehow but today I had a feeling our luck had run out. Injuries or not we have been outcoached several times this year I really like Les but man this team seemed unprepared it seems like the last 6 or 7 games. We are not that good, secondary sucks I do not know what the outcome would be but they way the D has been playing MIzz or Kansas with their Offenses would probably tear our D up.
I hear you man!!! There's a reason that he hasn't seen any significact action since the Varsity incident...I give props to coach Miles for not using him...He had enough of RP's off field incidents...I don't hate him, but I question his character.
This team has been very very lucky it didn't have a 2nd loss before today. They play with no sense of urgency and only get going when the are forced to. The coaches have allowed them to play sloppy all year and many of the "blind" fans kept on throwing out the record as defense when people would complain about the swiss cheese defense, penalties, or terrible Flynn play. Well here we go. People who ignore the symptoms are doomed for failure. Miles gave the same classic "we're working to fix the problems" but the same thing happened every week. I was not surprised we lost today...we've been begging to lose again for a while now. Miles is a solid coach, nothing more nothing less. I just hope they are smart enough to run off Pelini and not let Miles use the fake Michigan interest to get a raise out of LSU. IMO the guy should be grateful to have LSU and not the other way. I have said that ever since he was hired and have not wavered. I was in total shock that people were doing that retarded march to beg him to stay. I was very excited when I thought Miles would leave for Michigan. I still pray they do take him away. I honestly think Saban, Spurrier, Richt, Meyer, and Tuberville are better coaches....and that's just the SEC.
Today they tried throwing the football on first down..They've been predictable all season running the football on 1st down...The thing id that Flynn was just horrible...I wonder what his numbers were on 1st down.
I'm a newbie on this board, just showed up in fact, but I'd like to add my take. Man, that was a rough 5 hours. I have no problems with some of the poor play by Flynn, he was wonderful in the second half, and kept bringing LSU back when he could have folded. I think the key to the whole thing was Dorsey's health, which allowed so many key runs right up the gut. You combine that with all the bad mistakes the Tigers keep making, and it's just not a good mix. I have 2 big problems with this game. Really bad mistakes by a veteran team, for 1. Doucet lining up on the line of scrimmage, negating Hester's go ahead TD in the 4th. was brutal. That to me is coaching. The second thing is again, coaching. I know this is a second-guess, but I don't understand Pellini not sending 8 guys on 4th. and 10 in the first overtime. The worst that could happen was getting tied up. Why not take a dang chance? Arkansas won this game because they were more aggressive on defense than LSU. On the last play, they sold out and took Flynn's time away. Why didn't we do the same thing to Dick on 4th. and 10? Bummer.
I would like to know does anyone remember another season when the Tigers had to endure as brutal a schedule as this one? One when you were ranked so high early on in the season such as the team always has a target on their back whatever team they play against. The injuries on the defense did take a toll. Overall this has still been a good season, the third of a consecutive +ten win season. Got to let this one go and look forward to winning the SECCG.
sorry, but not really. This team is not a NC team. Not because of talent, but because of coaching. That's the truth, not an opinion.
