Settle down Francis, You raise some points that are worthy of discussion. At the end of the day, outside of Mett, we have flat out sucked at QB. RP and Lee may have been special and we will never know. What we do know is Les should learn to not put all his eggs in one basket.
Well well, look who crawled out from under their rock. I didn't even mention the fact that we have NO LB's in the class. I'm going easy amigo. For someone saying "don't get me started" you are doing a pretty good job to spin the flywheel.
And were the JR years really bad, I know many fans expressed their desire for Flynn but Russell was pretty darn good for 3 years.
A few notes from Les at the Bash today. We finished with 4 good players from the state of Tx, the #1 and 7 OL. He said Shipley is a couple donuts from being an OL. They liked the QB, he talked about him winning state at the high classification. We signed the top two CB's in the nation. The way we send DB's into the NFL,it's a given. Talked about playing 15, 15 and 17 True Freshmen over the last few years. He did talk about trying to find good LB's, he said if they don't want to play in the best state in the US, the hell with them. He talked a little longer on Donte' Jackson, and for good reason, just look at his tape or make a game. He said D J is along the lines of a PP7. Derek Dillon is fast, way to fast, he too has field speed. 4.4/40 Fast. David Ducre, the #1 FB in the Nation,at 238#'s with speed of a 4.55/40. Fournette's younger brother is still growing, will see where he ends up. Jazz Ferguson is said by many, the sleeper of the class, speed and hops. Avg 20 ppg in Basketball, but can play on the field Adrian Magee is playing at the 366# range, would like him to drop some weight, to say 360, ok Les made a few jokes tonight. Tyron Johnson's phone never stopped ringing, too many teams kept making too many calls. There was some wondering why his fax was so late. The Dad was doing a procedure today with a donation of Stem Cells for another Son, Les said he had talked with the Dad and all had went well. Oh, to add on Donte' Jackson, Les said he turned in a 10.3/100M, and can hit as good as anyone he's seen. Will take a break for now, been a long day. After the Bash, spent a little time in the VIP room. Also got a little time to talk with Mike Detillier today, along with a few others. The Bash was an A+ this year after a very bad one last year, they have corrected the problems from last year. Very enjoyable day.
Wrong thread for this discussion. You could say I started it, but there is only so many excuses/pumping I can take. I've enjoyed your recruiting posts and I acknowledge that it takes all kinds to make the world go round. Pumpers and negas both. Even as a nega, pretty happy with the recruiting class.
Great, some talk today that the guy that did one of the better jobs in this class was Jeff Grimes. This was coming from a number of people. They were also talking about how well his Jr list is coming along.
Eggs in 1 basket? Are you kidding me? It has been a merry-go-round for years. Andrew Hatch, Jarrett Lee, Jordan Jefferson, Mettingberger, signed Stephen Rivers, signed Rettig, Anthony Jennings, Brandon Harris, now Justin McMillan...all of these since Perrilloux. That is quite a large basket. Psst, for the record, the vast, vast majority of NCAA FBS teams suck at QB most years.
