Muscles upon muscles aside, Shannon Sharpe wasn't a "big" TE either--he was more of a muscular, slower, WR. Sharpe was 6-2, 228 lbs when he played.
The dude is 6' 6" and has a 36 inch vertical. Unless he is a klutz I have no idea why our coaching staff doesn't think highly of him. Not sure if a basketball game can tell you how well a guy will do on the football field. Maybe he's only 6'5" with a 32 inch vertical and a slow 4.55 speed. That would downgrade him to "outrageous" in terms of measurables.
I've always said a kid that's good in basketball can be good in football. You can see the coordination, athleticism, feel for pressure, etc. On a side note, Al Woods was a monster on the court too. :thumb:
Obviously, his measurables allow him to be great at going up to get the ball. However, he isn't very good in open space.
