Not sure what to make of that in the big scheme of things. Let's say we know we have Tolliver, would we be telling Mason go ahead and sign up? On the other hand, if we truly believe Tolliver is a coin flip, then it may make sense to have him commit and get this over with. But then you might be saying bye bye to Tolliver, which I would not understand. Talk about some sticky situations you get in when it comes down to those last 2 weeks of recrutiing season. That's tough.
Remember we can only hear one side of the story. Les cannot comment on recruits. (As is the case with Luther Davis)
I was thinking along those lines too. I'd love to know the how's, when's, and why's of recruiting- I find it very interesting, but very stressful. It's a game within a game.......Even though I know our coaches are honest and upfront, I'd guess sometimes there's a "Poker face" element involved to the extent of getting recruits to make a move and sew up the last minute needs.
Of course not :thumb: Its common belief LD got his offer revoked. LD is not going to come out and say he got his offer revoked, it look bad. So he lies. What's Les to do publicly? We might have the same thing going on her with him saying they wanted him to commit on the spot.
Absolutely! If we recruit too many WR, it would likely impact upon LSU's chances of landing Toliver. Good move by Miles.
I suppose, but I believe Sonny. Plus, his story doesn't make much sense. Why would we want him to commit right on the spot before he even visits?
Here is Mason's quote: "I was supposed to go down there, but the coach called and told me they had gotten commitments from other wide receivers," Mason said. "They got a commit from a junior college player Demetrius Byrd and may have filled up at my position." If this is true, that tells me we know we have Tolliver.
