Here is my list but it was difficult ranking them in order and I am sure some would switch a few around. I started this thread to also show how well LSU is doing in keeping the top talent in state this year even with the very few offers to in-state prospects. I know some of these predictions might not play out in the end but I am pretty confident it will be close. WR Rueben Randle-- LSU not too worried (95%) DT Chris Davenport--LSU Lock (100%) RB Michael Ford--LSU Commit CB Janzen Jackson--LSU Commit DT Darrington Sentimore--All LSU if makes the grades (90%) RB Eddie Lacy--Qualifying and character issues (No Offer) (10%) WR Kenny Bell--LSU (95%) LB Barkevious Mingo--LSU (95%) OT Chris Faulk--LSU Commit OG Joshua Downs--LSU Commit Just Missing the List: LB Tahj Jones--LSU if qualifies (80%) OG Carneal Ainsworth--LSU Commit C Joey Fontana--No Offer but #3 rated Center by Scout DT DeQuinta Jones RB/LB Montrell Connor DL Deon Simon RB/FB Alex Singleton RB Kelvin York WR Ricky Johnson LB Lamin Barrow OL Patrick Lewis OL Gabriel Jackson ATH DJ Banks Biggest argument I could see in the top 10 is Lacy and Sentimore should be higher but I gave other the benefit of the doubt because of qualifying issues. I also gave slightly lower % if grades were an issue. The recruits not bolded are in no particular order.
:geaux::crystal::helmet: Great list. Can someone please tell me why Joey Fontana doesn't have an offer? If he's the #3 rated center, I would think LSU would be interested. He's a great prospect and I surely hope that LSU would be offering him. It would really be criminal to see him go out of state somewhere. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
I think it is because we see Downs as a Center in this class. He is a good looking prospect but there are not many centers out there so the #3 is a little misleading. If you ranked his as a OG he would be further down the list.
:geaux::crystal::helmet: Thanks for the feedback. I was sure I had read some articles where he had offers from a couple of SEC schools, Auburn comes to mind, so I was figuring that maybe LSU still had him on the board. I've got confidence in the coaching staff though. If they didn't offer then there are reasons why, and this class looks to be shaping up well in OL prospects. LSU looks to be building up OL talent and depth for years to come. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
I am VERY curious to find out where Eddie Lacy ends up. He has the talent to be a very good SEC back, but I don't know that any SEC school is going to take a chance on him. He's a guy who could really be a draw for a lesser team, like Marshall Faulk at San Diego State.
I am staying firm with the 95%. Many fans were getting bad feelings about Miami, etc... but him putting those rumors to rest and the distance factor keep me confident. Family is a very big deal for this kid and I do not see him moving away and making it more difficult for his family to see him play.
