Jefferson won't throw unless a receiver is wide open. He has few interceptions as a result, but few TD's too. He's big and fast. He could add 30 pounds and be a fine NFL tight end. But I can't see the NFL expending a draft pick on a running quarterback. JJ was supposed to be improved and come around last year. I'm very skeptical until he proves himself on the field consistently.
i don't see it myself, but i was surprised to see JJ was projected as a 7th Round QB for the 2012 Draft recently. since then, they've dropped him a few spots and project him as a 7th Round/FA (instead of a straight 7th Round like they had him for the last month or two). they still have JJ ranked above FL's John Brantley, TN's Matt Simms, Miami's Jacory Harris, NC State's Russell Wilson, MSU's Chris Relf, etc Jordan Jefferson*|*LSU,*QB*:*2012 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile
Peterson was a great TE I thought. He rarely dropped passes and since he doesn't get covered by corners he tends to get open relatively easily. I think he has a big year. Especially since the QB's seemed to like him also.
D-Pete kind of reminds me of another former LSU Player thats still in the NFL, Robert Royal. I too think in KRags offense, D-Pete can do some damage....TE is one of the deeper positions on the team. :miles:
fwiw Deangelo Peterson is currently projected to be a 7th Round pick (#10 TE), behind a UL-Lafayette TE projected to be a 3rd/4th Round pick and an Oregon TE projected to be a 4th/5th Round pick. that assumes none of the top TEs from the junior class go to the NFL early, which include #2 TE Orson Charles of GA, #4 TE Philip Lutzenkirchen of Auburn, and #6 TE Michael Williams of Bama. in the class after that, they have Georgia with the #2 TE (Arthur Lynch) and Florida with the #3 TE (Jordan Reed) DeAngelo Peterson | LSU, TE : 2012 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile
