i dont understand how he got a save? i thought it was no more than 3 runs ahead, unless the tying run is at bat or something? how could it be a save 27 runs up? they could put me in for that save.
The broadcasters for the Red Sox/D-Rays game said something about it being because he pitched at least 3 complete innings. If that's the case, this climbs the list of dumb rules pretty quickly.
What's the record for most runs scored in a double header? These 2 get to play again in a few minutes. Over/under on bean balls in the 2nd game.....3
im disappointed you didnt know the last 3 innings constitute a save as long as a lead and you keep it. saves are completely stupid. the setup dude who comes in in the 8th with bases loaded is just as important and usually moreso.
Isn't Salatamacchia the catcher that Clair thinks is overrated? I think he got more RBIs tonight than Ausmus has this year.
Stats junkies call them holds, but you almost never see it listed on a players stat sheet. I would love to be in a fantasy league that counted them. Then Scott Shield would be doing a little more for me than just helping my ERA/WHIP
